8th Grade Assembly

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 8th graders had a presentation in the auditorium that made connections to their Cornerstone project and many good points were brought up by Dr. Anabelle Broadbent.
Dr. Broadbent spoke about her connections with NASA, her ongoing research with plants, and her past and current work experiences.
Some students shared their thoughts after the presentation. One student said, “My main takeaway from that [presentation] would have to be realizing what it actually takes to make a business successful. And I think this will do good for my business because it helped me realize that I can have a small business and not go way over my head.” Another student said, “I think this made me realize that it takes a lot to make a business work. I think this will help me with my business by knowing now the amount of effort that I would need to put in to make it work.”
Hopefully, the information eighth grade students learned from this presentation is shared with future eighth grade students, so they can get excited about some of the opportunities they will have during their last year of middle school. If any eighth graders have any questions about the Cornerstone project, they should ask any of their teachers, but they should not worry about all of the work related to this project. They will have the entire school year to improve their projects.
