This year there were 53 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders qualifying for the Spelling Bee. The first level of the Spelling Bee is the classroom written test. The second level is the building level Spelling Bee where spellers compete to win the championship at our school. The third level is a written exam at GJ Huesken Middle School in Conestoga Valley School District. Then they will do another written exam for the Lancaster County Bee that is also at the GJ Huesken Middle School. The winners advance to Washington, D.C. where they will compete nationally. This year’s overall winner was a 6th grader, Ivy Lockard. The runners up were Evan (8th), Max (7th), Caleb (6th), Adelyn (6th), and Easton (6th). Out of those six people, Caleb and Evan will advance to the county Spelling Bee on Friday, March 13th, 2020 at G. Huesken Middle School in the Conestoga Valley School District.
