Student-Faculty Basketball Game
by Esther
For the Student vs Faculty, teachers and 8th-grade basketball students came together to participate in a competitive basketball game. It was an event that helped raise money for Mini-THON. Besides the players playing, people needed to pay cash at the door to get in to watch the game. Another way we raised money was by having a concession stand. For those who don’t know, a concession stand is a snack or food bar. At the game, we raised a total amount of $1,990.58 for Mini-THON. The game happened on February 15, 2024. There were a total of 4 quarters that lasted about 16 minutes. Each team was split into 4 groups of 5 and would switch onto the court every 4 minutes. At half-time, some people paid $2 to try and make a half-court shot.
Overall, the game was a fun night for all those who came to watch and play. The game ended in a student win with a buzzer-beater made by Jeremiah Griffin. Laughs were shared and pictures were taken for the yearbook. As someone who played in the game, I would definitely recommend attending this event.
