Ephrata EMS – CTC Trip
Written by Landon - 8th Grade
This year each 8th grade student had the opportunity to visit one of three CTC centers. We had a guidance lesson explaining what CTC offers, what is included at each one and what to expect when we go.
There were three locations each student could choose from. The locations offered were Mount Joy, Willow Street and Brownstown. Every location had a whole different experience with various jobs or workplaces.
Personally, I choose to go to Brownstown. This location offered many workplaces, jobs, and education. We went through rooms that provided different things. At Brownstown there were rooms that included the following: Construction, Painting/Interior Design, Culinary Arts, Photography, Medical, Computer Lab (IT), Electrical, Welding, Plumbing, and even a dirt bike, four-wheeler and go kart workshop!
Overall, the experience went very well for all students, and we learned many things. This trip benefited students at EMS by providing resources and real-life situations and experiences to make students think more about what they want to do in the future!
