Boys/ Girls Cross Country 2020
By Kylie
Cross country is a sport where teams and individuals run a race on open-air courses. The courses are 2 miles long. It is all about having a positive attitude while running. In practice, the team works on building up endurance for running longer and faster distances. They also work on communication skills, which are needed as well. The teams goal is to be happy with what they get out of their meets. They want to put all we have into their meets and to get their personal best times. They hope to improve the team even more by taking every practice and giving it the most each day.
There were 10 athletes on the girl’s team. Their win/loss ratio is 6-5 and the top time is by Ella P. The best girls race as a team was against Solanco. Ella was the lone medal winner at the teams final “Bridge the Gap” invitational!
On the boy’s team, there were 18 athletes. Their win/lose ratio is 5-6, their top 2 players are Jack M and Cayden L. The team’s best race was against Hempfield. Jack M set a new all time 7th grade race time, nipping the time last year by one second set last year by Cayden L.
